Vehicles Crash Head-On, One Killed

Sixty-seven-year-old Michael Gregory, of Macon County, was killed in a head-on crash on Highway 52 West near the Phillips Hollow Road intersection, on Tuesday, January 31, 2023.

The preliminary crash report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol states that Michael Gregory was driving east on Highway 52 West in a 2010 Kia Forte, and 38-year-old Jessica Miller, of Tennessee, was driving west on Highway 52 in a 2016 Subaru Forrester. While approaching the intersection of Phillips Hollow Road, the Kia crossed the center line and struck the Subaru SUV head on. Gregory was pronounced deceased at the scene and Miller was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.

The report also states that Michael Gregory was not wearing a seat belt and Jessica Miller was.

The crash happened around 4:45 p.m. and the highway was closed for approximately two hours.
