Tigerettes win two 7-3A contests


The Macon County High Softball Tigerettes recorded two wins this past week. They were both against District 7-3A opponents.

On Tuesday Apr 4th the Lady Tigers from DeKalb County came to Lafayette. Macon jumped out to an early 8-0 lead after the first two innings but saw DeKalb come back to make a game of it. Macon held on to win by a score of 10-7 in a game that saw them commit an uncharacteristic six errors.

Macy Meador had a big day with three hits, two runs scored, and two RBIs as did Ellie Coley with four hits and an RBI. Gianna Holden, Kenley Roark, Ryleigh Coley, and Kayla Frye all had hits as well. Ellie Coley threw seven innings in the circle allowing seven hits and two earned runs while striking out five.

On Wednesday Apr 5th the Tigerettes travelled to White County. Macon needed only six innings to run-rule the Lady Warriors and win by a score of 10-0.

Coley was once again in the circle. She gets the complete game win throwing six innings allowing only three hits and striking out nine. Ellie Coley and Candence Carter each had multiple RBIs while Meador and Ryleigh Coley had multiple hits. Scoring for Macon was Meador, Ellie Coley, Addison Woodard, Roark, and Katie Shockley.

A scheduled game at Livingston Academy on Apr 6th was postponed due to the weather.

This week the Tigerettes are scheduled for a home game against Stone Memorial on Tuesday Apr 11th and a road game in Baxter on Apr 13th against Upperman. First pitch for both contests is scheduled for 5 pm.
