Tigers drop two during spring break


During the annual spring break at Macon County High School, the Tigers lost two conference games. Both games were against Livingston Academy.

On Monday Apr 4 the Tigers travelled to Livingston. The Wildcats were able to scratch-out their first conference victory by a 2-1 margin.

Nate Green and Braxton Lloyd got the only hits of the day and Landon Connor scored the only run. Jacob Hunt went the distance on the mound throwing six innings. He allowed five hits and two earned runs striking out nine.

The return match was in Lafayette the next day on Apr 5th. Behind early the Tigers tried to muster offense to no avail. Livingston was able to lead this one from wire-to-wire and get the series sweep winning 8-3.

Hayden Dean had multiple hits with help from Green, Braylon Flowers, Gage Jones, and Hayes Polston. Polston, Flowers, and Tyler Gregory scored the three runs. Hunter Patterson was the starter on the mound and threw five innings, allowing six hits and three earned runs while striking out seven. Flowers came on in relief for two innings and allowed two hits and two earned runs in the contest.

This week Macon County is scheduled to face District 7-3A undefeated and leaders in the Upperman Bees. The first game is Monday Apr 10th in Baxter and the return match will be Apr 11th in Lafayette. The Tigers are scheduled to host Red Boiling Springs on Thursday Apr 13 at 1:30 pm for the annual student body game. Finally they are scheduled to play in the Alex Cassetty Classic in Gainesboro on Saturday Apr 15th.
