Fred Williams
Fred M. Williams, 89, of Clearwater, Florida, born May 2nd, 1933, entered into eternal rest February 3rd, 2023.
Born in Hermitage Springs, TN, he started working for the phone company in Red Boiling Springs, TN in 1954. Fred and his family was transferred to Greensburg, KY in 1962 and worked for GTE of Kentucky until being transferred to GTE of Florida in St. Petersburg in 1966. Fred retired as Manager of Switching Services in 1987 and started a wood working company in Pinellas Park, FL. He thoroughly enjoyed working with hardwood lumber, building cabinets, furniture and custom wood mouldings. He later sold his equipment to his son and worked for Precision Architectural Products in Largo, FL until he retired for good a second time in 2004.
He was a Kentucky Colonel, Cub Scout Master, volunteer for the local Boy Scout Troop, supporter of the Seminole Vo-Ag Farm FFA Chapter along with helping out anyone who needed a hand. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with his five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He taught them many life lessons that will live forever as they are passed from one generation to the next.
He is survived by his daughter Pamela Cox of Tarpon Springs, FL and son Mike Williams of Oldsmar, FL; grandchildren Ryan Jones, Sean Jones, Keith Williams, Ben Williams, and Jamie Burge; great-grandchildren Emma, Avery, Laine, Harper, and Fletcher with another one due any day; as well as many nieces and nephews, family and friends. A private celebration of life will be held soon.
