Tigerettes notch two big victories


The Macon County Tigerette softball team collected two big District 7-3A wins this week.

On Tuesday Apr 11 Stone Memorial came to Lafayette. A four run first inning set the tone on the way to a 7-1 win for the Tigerettes. In a true team effort every girl in the line-up collected a hit in the game.

Ellie Coley threw seven innings allowing six hits and no earned runs with seven strike-outs. In order in the lineup, Macy Meador, Addison Woodard, Ellie Coley, Cadence Carter, Gianna Holden, Kenley Roark, Ryleigh Coley, Kayla Frye, and Katie Shockley all collected hits.

On Thursday Apr 13 Macon traveled to Upperman. This game was a match-up of two teams at the top of the district. With the game tied 4-4 in the top of the 7th Macon plated the go-ahead run and held on for a big 5-4 win.

Once again Ellie Coley got the complete game win in the circle. She pitched seven inning and gave up five hits and four earned runs. Meador had a day at the plate with three hits, two RBIs, and scoring two runs. Frye and Shockley scored the other two runs.

This week the Tigerettes will host White County on Tuesday Apr 18 and host Gordonsville on Wednesday Apr 19. The Tigerettes are currently 7-1 in district play.
