Man Solicits Sex from Minor on Undercover Facebook Account

A 25-year-old Lafayette man is behind bars after soliciting sex from a female he believed to be 14 years old on Facebook. 

According to the affidavit of complaint filed by Detective Joseph Woodard, of the Macon County Sheriff’s Department, Juan Carlos Hernandez Jimenez messaged an undercover Facebook account that was disguised to belong to a 14-year-old female.

Although he was told the account belonged to a 14-year-old female, he sent a photo of his penis to the account. 

Mr. Jimenez also agreed to meet up with the minor on April 18, 2023 at 10 a.m. behind Walmart at the barn on Winding Stairs Lane, where he planned to pick her up, take her to his apartment and pay her $150 to have sex with him.

Mr. Jimenez sent a message saying he was going to Walmart to purchase condoms before coming to meet the 14-year-old girl. 

Around 10 a.m., Mr. Jimenez did arrive at the meeting place, where he was taken into custody. 

He was charged with patronizing prostitution, promoting prostitution, solicitation of a minor and soliciting sexual exploitation of a minor by electronic means. 

His bond was set at $70,000, and he is scheduled to appear in general sessions court on May 17, 2023.
