Robbie Denson

Robbie Louise Whittemore Denson was born into this world on June 5, 1944 in Lafayette, Tennessee, to the late Ray Louis Whittemore and Mary Magdalene Pedigo Whittemore. She departed this life for her Heavenly Home on April 19, 2023, making her earthly stay seventy-eight years, ten months, and fourteen days.

On June 5, 1959, Robbie married Raymond P. West. They were blessed with one daughter and eight years of marriage. After a tragic accident, Raymond passed away on September 19, 1967. Along with her dear husband and parents, Robbie was also preceded in death by her Brother, Murrel Whittemore and wife, Teresa; Sister, Sarah Whittemore Matthews; and Sister-in-law, Vesta Whittemore.

Robbie attended Testament Primitive Baptist Church. She was employed as a seamstress at Racoe for thirty-two years. When the plant closed Robbie went to work at Measure-up. She retired in January 2023. In her spare time, Robbie enjoyed watching western movies. She loved to dance and listen to music. Above all else, Robbie loved her family and her grandchildren. They were the light of her life. Robbie’s smile, laughter, and love will be dearly missed by all.

Robbie is survived by; Daughter, Teresa Doss and husband, David; Grandson, Mason Doss and wife, Morgan; Great-grandchildren, Lacey Doss and Bailey Doss; Brother, Louis Whittemore; Sister-in-law, Twyla West; and Best Friend, Tony Perdue.

Funeral services for Ms. Robbie Whittemore Denson were conducted on Saturday, April 22, 2023, from The Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Dwight Dyer officiating. Interment followed in The Testament Cemetery. Chad Whittemore, Mark Voyles, Marty Amons, Tim Napier, Terry Jenkins, and John Jenkins served as pallbearers.
