Tigerettes collect another district win
The Macon County High School softball team split a pair of games this past week. They picked up another 7-3A win and dropped a non-conference game.
On Tuesday Apr 18 the Tigerettes hosted district opponent White County. The Tigerettes offense started early and often, scoring two in the first, three in the second, and two more in the third. Macon ended the game in the 6th inning with a score of 13-3.
Ellie Coley went the distance in the circle allowing four hits and no earned runs while striking-out seven. Once again every girl in the line-up collected a hit: Macy Meador, Bailey Turner, Ellie Coley, Cadence Carter, Gianna Holden, Kenley Roark, Ryleigh Coley, Kayla Frye, and Katie Shockley. Meador led the game off with a solo home run, collected three hits and three RBIs on the day.
On Wednesday the Tigerettes hosted Gordonsville. Sometimes you eat the bear, and sometimes the bear eats you. The Tigerettes simply didn’t have their ‘A’ game and lost 16-0 in six innings.
Ellie Coley threw five innings and gave up four earned runs on eight hits with eight strike-outs. Frye come on in relief and threw one inning giving up six earned runs on seven hits. Shockley and Meador collected the only hits the Tigerettes recorded.
This week Macon will have home games on Monday Apr 24 against Friendship Christian and will have Senior Night on Tuesday Apr 25 against Cumberland County. First pitch for both games is scheduled for 5 pm.
