Two Arrested for MCHS Vandalism

Parker Lane Duffer, age 18, and Aden Coffee, age 20, were arrested last week for their roles in the vandalism of Macon County High School on May 10, 2023.
According to the affidavit of complaint filed by Macon County High School SRO Terry Atkins, the two men entered the school around midnight and vandalized the building, causing damage to computers, desks, hallways and classrooms. The total amount of damage is believed to be around $1,500.
These acts were observed on video, and warrants were issued for their arrests on May 15, 2023.
As reported in the Chronicle in our May 16, 2023 issue, Macon County Sheriff Joey Wilburn explained that a group of seniors gained access to the school with the intent to perform a harmless senior prank that night with balloons and glitter. But other individuals showed up with a different agenda – leaving a dead possum inside the school, destroying school computers, and vandalizing school property.
Duffer is a Macon County High School, class of 2022, graduate.
Duffer and Coffee were charged with criminal trespassing, vandalism and burglary. Their bonds were each set at $3,500, and they are scheduled to appear in general sessions court on June 7, 2023.
