Two Arrested for Giving 11-Year-Old Alcohol

By Jessie Williams

Two Red Boiling Springs men were arrested and charged with child abuse and contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor on June 4, 2023, after giving a child alcohol.

According to the affidavit of complaint filed by Detective Jason Sells of the Macon County Sheriff’s Department, law enforcement was advised by a friend of the family that an 11-year-old, female, juvenile was intoxicated inside her Lafayette Rd. residence in Red Boiling Springs.

Officer Sells, along with Sergeant William Cherry and Deputy Jason Vinson, arrived at the scene to find the 11-year-old girl so intoxicated that she could not stand up without falling.

During the course of their investigation, it was determined that 34-year-old Shawn Lee Feinstein and 25-year-old Haden Bennett gave the juvenile four or five shots of Fireball Whisky and allowed her to continue drinking alcohol.

Macon County EMS was called to the scene and both men were arrested and charged with child abuse and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Mr. Bennett lives in the residence with the juvenile and is the boyfriend of the girl’s guardian. Mr. Feinstein was arrested at his King Hill Rd. apartment.

Bennett and Feinstein were each held on a $7,500 bond and are scheduled to appear in general sessions court on July 12, 2023.
