Warrants Executed, Meth & Fentanyl Found

A 61-year-old Pleasant Shade man was arrested last week after local law enforcement discovered methamphetamine and fentanyl inside his home.

According to the affidavit of complaint filed by Macon County Sheriff’s Department Detective Byron Butcher, a search warrant, along with a parole warrant, were executed on June 20, 2023 at the Wilmore Hollow Rd. residence of David K. Verzier. 

Upon making entry into the home, deputies located Mr. Verzier laying in bed.

He was detained, and a green container was located on the bed. Inside was approximately 20.25 grams of a crystal substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine, as well as fentanyl. 

A set of digital scales, with a white, powdery residue on them, was also discovered in Mr. Verzier’s bedroom. 

He was charged with resale of methamphetamine, resale of fentanyl and possession of drug paraphernalia. Verzier’s bond was set at $60,000 and he is scheduled to appear in general sessions court on July 17 and July 19, 2023.
