Tony Day Appointed to Lafayette City Council

Lafayette City Council members voted 4-0 to appoint Tony Day to fill the council seat that was vacated last month by Jeff Hudson, due to a change of residence. Voting yes: David Kempf, Mike Marshall, Jason Phelps and Steve Turner. Councilman Roger Jones was absent. Tony was sworn in following the July 11 meeting, and he will serve in this seat until May of 2024.

Day, a native of Macon County, owned and operated Day’s Service Center for 27 years, and he has been working for Ben Bray Real Estate for the last eight years. “I served the citizens of Lafayette for many years in the garage business and now I want to serve them as a city council member,” said Tony. “If you have any problems, please let me know and I’ll see if I can help you.” (Photo by D.
