Charles Swindle

Charles Wayne Swindle, age 87 of Glasgow, KY & formerly of Lafayette, TN passed away Saturday morning, July 15, 2023 at the NHC Health Care in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral Services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, July 18, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette with Elder David Swindle and Elder Alan Miller officiating. Interment followed in the Galen Cemetery with Military Honors by the Veterans Honor Guard. Joey Dyer, Keith Dotson, Patrick Swindle, Issac Swindle, Brent Jones, Ronnie Holland, served as honorary pallbearers. Andy Miller, Steve Blankenship, Barry Dotson, Wayne Miller, Jeremy Wilson, Jason Dyer, Tim Ferguson served as pallbearers.

Charles Wayne Swindle was born February 15, 1936 in Lafayette, TN, the son born to the late Ruby & Mable East Swindle, and departed this life July 15, 2023 at the age of 87 years & 5months. He married the love of his life, Gladys Alene Miller Swindle on July 12, 1959. They shared 64 wonderful years together. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Hillous Swindle & Sister, Rulene Blankenship.

Charles was born and raised in Lafayette, TN before moving to Glasgow, KY. He was a graduate of Macon County High School. He also received a technical degree in drafting. He was also in the Army and a Korean War Veteran. He was a Christian saved by grace. He was a deacon and member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church for many years. He is currently a deacon and member of Mount Pisgah Church in Glasgow, KY. Charles loved and enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed basketball and was an avid golfer.

Survivors include: Wife, Gladys Miller Swindle; Daughter & Son-in-law, Meshel & Kevin Goodman; Son & Daughter-in-law, Terry & Nicole Swindle; Grandchildren, Courtney & Tyler Stewart, Megan Swindle, William Goodman & fiancé Taylor, & Sister-in-law, Elizabeth Swindle.
