Helen Renee Washington, age 65 of Red Boiling Springs, TN passed away Wednesday evening, July 12, 2023 at her residence. Funeral Services for Helen Renee Washington were conducted Tuesday afternoon, July 18, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, TN with Evangelist Rita Epps officiating.

Helen Renee Washington, entered this world on July 27, 1957, at Elizabeth General Hospital in Elizabeth, NJ. Born to Margaret and James Washington Sr., she embraced the gift of life for 65 years. On Monday, July 12, 2023, Helen transitioned to her eternal rest. She was a loving daughter, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and treasured friend.

In her elementary and middle school years Helen attended two private schools in Harlem, NY, School On The Hill, and later All Saints. After graduating she went on to attend High School at Our Lady of Victory Academy in Dobbs Ferry, NY. Helen also attended Westchester College in White Plains as an accounting major. Helen exuded happiness and had a deep desire to bring joy to those in her presence. During her early years, she enjoyed and excelled at playing basketball. Helen also had a love for dancing and singing which was a constant source of delight. Her remarkable voice touched the hearts of many fortunate enough to experience it. Helen’s talent in the kitchen was unmatched, and she lovingly prepared meals for those around her. In addition to her culinary arts skills, Helen was also known for her creativity. She had a special way with children and was particularly skilled in engaging with them during the Bible School at her church. Saving Grace. Her ability to connect with young hearts and minds left a lasting impact on the children she interacted with. Helen loved God, her family and watching recordings of her favorite TV show, Colombo.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children: Talisha (Antonio) Smith of Lebanon, TN, Myisha (William) Washington Hankins of Atlanta, GA, and Isaiah Washington (companion, Madison Melvin) of Nashville, TN; parents: Margaret and James Sr. of Scarsdale, NY; grandchildren: Elijah, Malachi, Nevaeh, Antonio “Tank” Jr., Brooklyn, Micah, Mikyla, and William; greatgrandchildren: Royce, Zara, N’Viah; siblings: Tracey Washington, Chivonne Washington, Rochelle Washington, Mark Washington and James Washington Jr. all of New York; as well as a host of friends, nieces, and nephews whose lives she touched with her warmth and kindness. She will reunite with her beloved sister, Lorraine Washington, as she embarks on her heavenly journey.
