Tom Roberts

Tom Roberts, age 81 of Lafayette, TN passed away Sunday morning, July 23, 2023 at Knollwood Manner in Lafayette, TN. Tuesday afternoon, July 25, 2023 at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette with Dr. Tom Binford & Pastor Gene Martino, Jr. officiating. Interment followed in the Macon County Memorial Gardens. Michael Bransford, Jerry Wilmore, Lonnie Stevens, Billy Bransford, Harry Montello, & Ricky Hesson served as pallbearers.

Tom Roberts was born June 28, 1942 in Sparta, TN, the son born to the late Dr. Charles Buford & Rita Jones Roberts, and departed this life July 23, 2023 at the age of 81 years & 25 days.

Tom was born & raised in Sparta, TN. Tom married Maylin Snow in 1963. They moved to Lafayette in 1977 with Imperial Reading. Later, Tom began his own apparel company, Lafayette Apparel from 1979-1996. In the early 2000’s he worked for Fleetwood. While raising a family he was very active in the community. Tom helped develop the T-Ball and Little League organizations. He was passionate about politics. He served 2 terms on the Lafayette City Council. He was an active member in the Lafayette United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: Wife, Marylin Roberts, Son & Daughter-in-law, Les & Patricia Roberts all of Lafayette, Daughter & Son-in-law, Laura Jane Roberts & J.D. Skinner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Buford & Rita Jones Roberts and his siter, Carolyn Rayburn.
