Junior Tigers close out regular season
The Macon County Junior High Tigers held their final game of the regular season and it was homecoming at Pat Parker field. They hosted Prescott South out of Cookeville.
Following a change of possession, with 6:42 left in the first half quarterback Owen Pitts scored from one yard. Hadyn Hasse ran the two point conversion and Macon led 8-0. On the next Tiger possession Aiden Barlow scored from three yards. The conversion was no good and Macon led 14-0 at the half.
On their first possession of the second half Hasse scored on a 13 yard run with 1:19 left in the third quarter. Braxton Boles made the conversion and Tigers led 22-0. The last score came with 2:19 left in the game as Caleb Davis scored on a 13 yard run. The conversion was no good and your final score was Macon 28 Prescott 0.
For the game Aiden Barlow had nine rushes for 95 yards and a touchdown, Lane Oliver ran four times for 21 yards, Owen Pitts ran four times for 1 yard and a touchdown, Ricky Mendez ran four times for 47 yards, Hadyn Hasse had two rushes for 20 yards, Braxton Boles two for 34, and Cameron Davis and Caleb Davies each had one run for four and thirteen yards.
This was the final game of the regular season with the Tigers sporting a record of 6-1 with the sole loss to White County. However, White County was upset in their final game of the season, giving them two conference losses. This means Macon will finish in first place in their division of their conference and host a play-off game.
The Junior Tigers will host Avery Trace on Saturday Sep 23rd at Pat Parker Field for the first round of the conference play-offs. Kick-off is scheduled for 6:30 pm I believe.
