Martha Woodcock
Martha Langford Woodcock, age 73 of the Sadlers Chapel Community in Macon County, TN passed away Monday afternoon, October 9, 2023 at the St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, TN.
Funeral Services for Martha Langford Woodcock were conducted Thursday afternoon, October 12, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs, TN with Elder Shawn Shoulders officiating. Interment followed in the Bethany Cemetery. Bailey Anderson, Landen Woodcock, Keaton Comer, Chase Long, Randy Carter, & Ronnie Morgan served as pallbearers.
Martha Langford Woodcock was born November 10, 1949 in Gamaliel, KY, one of twelve siblings born to the late Lorenzo & Beulah Ann Barnes Langford. On August 16, 1968, she married the love of her life, Danny Woodcock who survives. They shared over 55 wonderful years together. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Homer Langford, Elaine Kriebel, James Langford, Eugene Langford, Sue Grubbs, Donald Langford, & Jimmy Langford. Martha worked at various garment factories in Red Boiling Springs and retired from Citizens Bank. She was in the 1967 graduating class of Red Boiling Springs High School and was a member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church. She worked on the farm and enjoyed her garden. After retirement, she slowed down and enjoyed reading, attending homemakers club, riding four wheelers and spending time with her family. Martha was best known for her love of her Lord and the church, cooking family dinners, her famous rolls, and the love she had for her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors besides her husband, Danny include: daughter & son-in-law, Rebecca & Travis Anderson of Red Boiling Springs; son and daughter-in-law, Sean & Lana Woodcock of the Sadlers Chapel Community; grandchildren, Landen & Emma Woodcock, Bailey & Elizabeth Anderson; special grandchildren, Chase Long, Keaton Comer, & Hannah Conatser; sisters and brother-in-law, Shirley Dawson of Nashville, Doris & Gerald Williams of Lafayette; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe & Rena Langford, Tony & Sherry Langford all of Lebanon; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Shirley Day of Lafayette, Debra & Harold Wheeler of the Winklers Community; brother-in-law, Dorman Grubbs of Cottontown.
