Meth & Fentanyl Found Under Hood of Vehicle

Robert Glen Biggers

By Jessie Williams

A container was found under the hood of a 47-year-old Westmoreland man’s vehicle, containing methamphetamine and fentanyl, during a routine traffic stop last week.

According to the affidavit of complaint filed by Macon County Detective Jason Sells, he was on patrol on January 11, 2024, when he observed a white Cadillac Escalade that did not have working license plate lights.

The officer states that the vehicle accelerated at a high rate of speed and ran a stop sign before he initiated a traffic stop.

As officer Sells was calling the license plate in to dispatch, K-9 officer Patrick Berry approached the driver and observed multiple hypodermic needles in plain sight, and one needle that appeared to be loaded with a liquid substance.

The license plate came back to a black Jeep, not the white Escalade, and there was no insurance for the vehicle.

The driver, identified as Robert Glen Biggers, was asked to exit the vehicle and more needles were found under the area he was sitting.

A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted at that time.

Mr. Biggers admitted the loaded needle contained methamphetamine and it field tested positive for the drug.

Also found inside the vehicle during the search was  a baggie of methamphetamine located under the dash.

Under the hood of the Escalade, officers located a container with more methamphetamine inside, marijuana, rolling papers, two used methamphetamine pipes and a baggie containing fentanyl.

In total, Biggers was in possession of approximately 2.51 grams of methamphetamine, 0.2 games of fentanyl, 1.27 grams of marijuana, 16 needles and one loaded needle.

He was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of fentanyl, possession of drug paraphernalia, stop sign violation, license plate light violation, financial responsibility violation, license plate displayed on wrong vehicle and driving on a suspended license.

His bond was set at $41,000, and he is scheduled to appear in general sessions court on February 21, 2024.
