Elvis Scott

By Jessie Williams

Lafayette resident and registered sex offender, Elvis Scott, was arrested on February 20, 2024 after local law enforcement discovered he had knowledge of, and distributed, a video of a minor involved in a sexual act.

According to the affidavit of complaint, written by Detective Elliot Sandifer of the Macon County Sheriffs Department, detectives were notified that the video was distributed in January of 2024 after it was sent through the Facebook Messenger app on December 27, 2023.

During the course of detective Sandifer’s investigation, he found 45-year-old Elvis Scott to be the main suspect.

Scott was interviewed on February 20, 2024 and admitted to having knowledge of a video involving a minor in a sexual act, and knowingly distributing the same video.

It was also discovered that Scott, a registered sex offender, had two email accounts and a Facebook account that had not been reported.

He was charged with violating the sex offender registry (three counts), and aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.

His bond was set at $110,000, and he is scheduled to appear in general sessions court on March 6, 2024.
