Lafayette Man Charged With Continuous Sexual Abuse of Child

The family of a juvenile female reported 63-year-old Charles Anthony West to local law enforcement on February 17, 2024 for the continuous sexual abuse of a child over the course of at least three years.

According to the affidavit of complaint filed by Detective Robert Jacoby of the Macon County Sheriff’s Department, the family reported that West has spent years grooming the victim by paying special attention to her, buying her gifts and treating her as if she was his wife. 

West allegedly then began sexually abusing the girl for a minimum of three years.

In a mirandized interview with investigators, West admitted to touching the girl in her private areas.

He was charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child, a felony offense, and is scheduled to appear in general sessions court on March 13, 2024
