Governor Bill Lee and other state officials were on hand in Red Boiling Springs to celebrate economic growth in Macon County. The baby food factory is operated by Babynov of USA.

Those on hand were allowed to tour the facility which makes baby food products for children ages 4 months to 3 years old. The facility is very modern and really automated. Tennessee Department of Economic Development Commissioner Stuart McWhorter stated, “I have been to a number of these types of factories and this one is one of the very cleanest and modern that I have ever seen.”

Governor Lee spoke after touring the facility with officials from Babnov. “I want to say that I am honored to celebrate Babynov and their investment in Tennessee and Macon County. They are just one a quite a few French companies that have moved into, and doing business in Tennessee. Currently we estimate that French companies have invested over $15 billion in Tennessee and have created thousands of jobs.”

“With Babynov opening in 2020, right in the middle of Covid, I am please to see the progress they are making and will continue to make,” Gov Lee added.

As reported in the July 21st edition of ‘The Macon County Chronicle’ Babynov made the purchase of the former Nestle Waters plant in Red Boiling Springs with the hopes of providing up to 142 jobs with the investment of approximately $45 million dollars. The Red Boiling Springs plant was then fitted as a ‘state-of-the-art’ factory and was the very first production factory for the French company, anywhere in the United States.

Department of Labor and Workforce Commissioner Deniece Thomas commented that she was grateful to see another company come into Tennessee and provide jobs for Tennesseans. “I enjoyed the tour today and am really impressed with the automation and simply how good this place smells.”

In speaking with Governor Lee about the plant, Boris Salome who is the Vice President of US Operations, Babynov related how committed they are to the process of trying to become the best baby food factory in the United States. Salome told Gov Lee that Babynov sources all their ingredients as close to their operations as possible and has networks all over the United States to support the Red Boiling Springs facility.

Babynov USA was created in 2021 as a subsidiary of Global Baby, a French organic baby food manufacturer. Based in Tennessee, our state-of-the-art factory in Red Boiling Springs is fully automated. ‘Under private labels, Babynov develops high quality, well balanced and innovative baby food products, perfectly adapted to the specific nutritional needs of babies.’
