Tigerettes drop three games

The Macon County Tigerettes dropped three games this week.

On Tuesday March 19 the Tigerettes hosted the Lady Owls from Smith County. Kayla Frye got the start in the circle. Macon jumped out to a 1-0 lead, surrendered that lead, and then tied the game in the fourth inning at 4-4. However, a big four run inning by the Lady Owls in the sixth was too much to overcome. Final score was Smith County 8 Macon 5.

Individual stats for the game were unavailable. Smith County plated eight runs on nine hits with three errors. Macon scored five runs on seven hits with two errors.

Macon finished the week at the Southern Warrior Classic. These tournament games usually have a time limit and generally are much shorter than a regular season game.

On Friday March 22nd the Tigerettes faced the Lady Red Hawks from Stewarts Creek. Macon scored four runs in the top of the first to take the lead but was unable to stop Stewarts Creek from scoring. The Lady Hawks scored three, seven and one in the three inning game. Macon loses the game in three innings by a final of 11-7.

Kayla Frye started and went one and two-thirds of an inning and game up 10 earned runs on 10 hits. Kayli Aulick came on in relief and threw one inning and gave up one hit and one earned run. Kenley Roark and Gianna Holden both were two for three at the plate with Roark scoring two runs and Holden one. Maddie Cunningham, Ariana Jones, Sierra Troutt, and Alexis Pedigo each had a hit with Cunningham and Jones collecting RBIs.

Then the Tigerettes played the Blackman Lady Blaze two hours later. Kali Johnson got the start in the circle but only threw two-thirds of an inning and gave up five earned runs on 1 hit. Kayla Frye finished the game and went three and a third innings and gave up 16 earned runs on ten hits. Ryleigh Coley, Holden, and Jones each had a hit and Frye and Jones had an RBI each. This four inning gave was called after four innings with Blackman winning 21-2.

The week the schools in Macon County are on Spring Break. The Tigerettes are scheduled to play a slate of games in the Gulf Shores Coast Classic. They are scheduled to face three teams out of Alabama on March 25th and a team from Alabama on Mar 26th and Mar 27th.
