A May 21 traffic stop ended with the arrest of a convicted felon from Scottsville, Kentucky.

According to a report filed by Macon County Deputy Jacob Lopata, the officer was parked stationary at D&G Tire around 8:18 pm when he observed a white Chevy Silverado with a non-functioning tail light.

The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, and spoke with the driver who was later identified as 26-year-old Daniel Harrison.

In the passenger seat, Deputy Lopata observed a shotgun, and when asked about his criminal history, Harrison admitted to being a convicted felon on probation for drug offenses.

The officer then proceeded to conduct a probationary search of the vehicle and discovered a small, clear bag containing an orange, powdery substance.

Mr. Harrison admitted the substance was Suboxone. He was arrested and transported to the Macon County Jail where he was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and simple possession. His bond was set at $14,500, and he is scheduled to appear in general sessions court on June 5, 2024.
