Wreck at Carthage Rd. & Union Camp Rd. Intersection

Around 12:45 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025, emergency agencies were dispatched to the intersection of Union Camp Road and Carthage Road for a two-vehicle wreck, with injuries.

In the report provided by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 42-year-old Krysti Byrne, of Tennessee, was driving a 2012 Toyota Sienna (Vehicle 1) and Billy Smith, 70, also of Tennessee, was driving a 2013 Toyota Tacoma (Vehicle 2).

According to the narrative, V1 was stopped at the stop sign located at Union Camp Road and Carthage Road. V2 was traveling northbound on Carthage Road. V1 failed to yield the right of way while attempting to cross Carthage Road and was struck by V2. After the impact both vehicles came to rest near the area of impact.

The report states both drivers, along with three minor passengers in V1 were injured and were transported to a hospital.
