Aircraft Crashes in Macon County
On Thursday evening, June 12, at approximately 5:55 p.m., emergency crews responded to reports of a small aircraft crash near the 900 block of Duncan Road off of New Harmony Road.
The single engine aircraft experienced engine failure while flying over the county and deployed its onboard CAPS (Cirrus Airframe Parachute System), allowing the plane to descend safely.
There was one individual on board, who was transported to a local hospital forĀ evaluation. Fortunately, no life-threatening injuries were reported.
Macon County Emergency Medical Services is grateful for the coordinated response of all agencies involved and thankful for a safe outcome.
