Arian Ras-Devries, the 26-year-old Michigan man who crashed a Ford F150 truck into Citizens Bank on Scottsville Rd. earlier this month, has been arrested in Michigan, according to local law enforcement.
Lieutenant Shane Reed, of the Lafayette Police Department, told the Chronicle his department has been coordinating with law enforcement in Michigan through the entire course of the investigation into Ras-Devries’ whereabouts.
“He was tracked with license plate readers and was arrested in Middleville, Michigan,” Reed stated. “When Michigan law enforcement surrounded him, he was in a car with his girlfriend, Liz.”
According to Lieutenant Reed, Liz and Ras-Devries had just dropped off Liz’s children when officers surrounded the vehicle.
Ras-Devries did try to flee the scene, and crashed the vehicle into a milk truck before authorities were able to detain him.
He was transported for medical attention before he was booked into jail.
Officer Reed said Ras-Devries will have to face his April 2025 felony charges in Michigan, and his new charges in Michigan, before being extradited to Macon County for his crimes here.
