Phillip Snow is the New Vice Mayor of Macon County, TN

The governing body of Macon County, Tennessee gathered together on Monday, October 21, 2024 and voted to place District 1 Commissioner Phillip Snow as the new Vice-Mayor (Vice-Chair) position in case Macon County Mayor Steve Jones is unavailable to serve.
The following were named in the Election of Notaries: Renee Austin, Paulette Parkhurst Davis, Rick Gann, Julie Gentry, Kelli Hix, Kim Hunt, and Nicole McConnell.
Commissioners approved the meeting minutes from the Legislative Body on September 16, 2024; Planning Commission Meetings Minutes of July 16, 2024 and August 20, 2024; Board of Zoning Appeals Meeting Minutes of July 16, 2024 and August 20, 2024; and Committee of the Whole Meeting Minutes on October 7, 2024.
The 4-H Week Proclamation, October 6 – 12 for 4-H Week was approved.
Commissioners also approved the following: To ratify Ann Hall on the Library Board; Approve purchasing through Sourcewell; Soil and Conservation Report; Debt. Obligation Report for Jail Addition; Acknowledgement of approval from Comptroller for FY24-25 Budget; Building Codes/Impact Fee Report; Animal Control Report; and EMS Operational Report and Write-offs.
Reminders: Committee of the Whole Meeting has been scheduled for Monday, November 4, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. at the City of Lafayette Meeting Room. Macon County Government Offices will be closed on November 11, 2024, in observance of Veterans Day.
