Macon County EMS Saves Puppies Involved in Fire

Pictured above, a member of the Macon County EMS team gives oxygen to a puppy that suffered from smoke inhalation.
On Wednesday morning, January 22, the Macon County EMS team, City of Lafayette, TN Fire Department , Macon County Sheriff’s Office, TN, Trousdale County Emergency Services, and Hartsville/Trousdale County Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fully engulfed structure fire on Reed Lane.
Thankfully, the two human occupants made it out safely with only minor injuries, and first responders provided the necessary medical assistance.
But amidst the chaos, four tiny, frightened puppies were rescued from the scene, and the EMS crew quickly stepped in to provide some much-needed care and rehab for them.
Once they were given oxygen and found to be in good health, the puppies were brought to a family member’s home to be reunited with their owners.
It was later discovered that the puppies’ mother did not make it out of the fire.
A big thank you to all the first responders who worked tirelessly—your compassion and dedication make all the difference to both human and their beloved pets.
