There has been much speculation about Michelle Obama’s Princeton University thesis after it was revealed that transcripts of the thesis would not be available to the public until November 5, 2008, the day AFTER the presidential election. So I went to the source and read her thesis myself. What I concluded, after careful examination of the content and her opinions, is that this woman was certainly no great scholar, just a mediocre student, and that her conclusion about her studies, her hypothesis, was tepid at best. It is obvious to me that affirmative action got her into Princeton, not her stellar academic accomplishments. What is also an obvious conclusion for me was that, without a doubt, since she chose a race related theme to begin with, and the fact that she maintained a race oriented frame of mind before and after college and well into her adult life, race continues to play a deciding and formative role in her life.
This woman said she believes that “this country was founded on crime and hate”. She sent out a questionnaire to 400 black Princeton alumni, obviously to see if they were in her camp. Guess what? Of the 400 only 90 responded. Apparently the others did not consider joining her pity party as she railed against the injustices she felt she endured at Princeton. She admits this: “I hoped that these findings would help me conclude that despite the high degree of identification with whites as a result of the educational and occupational path that black Princeton alumni follow, the alumni would still maintain a certain level of identification with the black community. However, these findings do not support this possibility.” No they don’t, ma’am. The other 310 went on to enjoy the fruits of their lofty education and probably are still doing so today.
As First Lady, Michelle Obama may well use her new bully pulpit to continue to stoke the flames of racism even more, and that’s the last thing this country needs. And don’t think for a second that she does not remain close with Jeremiah Wright. They have too long a history together. Don’t doubt for a second that both she and her husband have succeeded brilliantly, so far, in the best political con job I have ever seen. Michelle is Barack’s Hillary- a package deal. Are we really ready for another one of these? Eyes open, folks. Remember her infamous recent campaign speech: “For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country, and not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change. Life is not good: we’re a divided country, we’re a country that is just downright mean, we are guided by fear, we’re a nation of cynics, sloths, and complacents.” Does this sound like a First Lady that you want? While I believe this country is more than ready for a black president, we are not ready for the Obamas…and never will be. Before it’s all over, those that claim they were hungry for a savior will find that they are now simply fed up.
Barack Obama is, by his own definition, a blank slate so his handlers, and boy are they good, have decided to invent a resume of this man by photographic images. Since there is no background of Obama as a world leader they have invented one by this recent trip so that his campaign can now use these photographs to establish the appearance of a resume on the world stage! How transparent can this be? And for him not to visit the wounded troops at Landshtul was inexcusable.
Obama acted quite presumptuous as he trotted from venue to venue and commanded huge crowds. However, he spoke as someone who seemed to need the world’s approval more than that of the American people. One main reason Obama is so liked in Europe is that he thinks like many of them-as a liberal and a socialist. But look at the shift in thinking in Europe. Most of the major powers, Germany, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom, have elected more conservative leaders in recent years. They may have seen the socialist experiments of the past decades have failed and perhaps they are ready to stop the cradle to grave handouts that have been the policies of those respective countries. The U.S. needs to pay attention to the message Europe may be sending.
Random ramblings… Entrepreneurs such as T. Boone Pickens are the exact reason government ought to stay out of the energy business and allow the free market to work. By now most of you have seen and heard his massive media campaign outlining his plan for energy independence for our country. The only part of Pickens’ plan that I don’t agree with is his position that we “can’t drill our way out of this crisis”. Yes, we can, in part. Expanded oil drilling in our country is an integral part of any energy program as we work toward finding more alternatives.
See ya next week!
