Politicians! Bah Humbug!

Claude Pepper once wrote, “If more politicians were thinking about the next generation instead of the next election, it would be better off for the United States and for the world”.

One thing is for sure, the Democrats and Republicans aren’t thinking about the next generation. I’ve lost respect for both groups. This nation has been plunged so far into debt that the next generation will never be able to dig America out its indebtedness. Andrew Jackson wrote, “A national debt is a national curse”.

This nation is in debt to the tune of 14 trillion dollars, thanks to the current president and the one before him. The next generation is doomed. The politicians in D.C. get automatic raises each year, but citizens haven’t had one in five years, thanks to the indebtedness created by the “Duefus Brothers”.

Neither D.C. nor Tennessee is thinking about the next generation when it comes to education. Tennessee spends only eight thousand dollars on each student, but spends thirty thousand on each prisoner. The state builds prisons for the inmates but won’t give the counties a nickel to build school buildings. The state of Tennessee, thanks to the liberal politicians, dole out millions to Planned Parenthood to buy and distribute birth control devices to the poor and to kill their babies if they forget to use the birth control methods, but won’t give to or force TennCare to provide adequate therapy for the crippled and paralyzed population.

Politicians. Bah Humbug! We are an endangered species because of them. They have destroyed the future for all of us, especially the next generation.

Consider the following poem by an unknown author: “The politician is my shepherd, I’m in want. He maketh me to lie down on park benches. He leadeth me beside still factories, he disturbeth my soul.

Yea, I walk through the valley of the shadow of depression and recession. I anticipate no recovery, for he is with me. He prepareth a reduction in my salary in the presence of my enemies. He anointed my small income with great losses. My expenses runneth over. Surely unemployment and poverty shall follow me all the days of my life. And I shall dwell in a mortgaged house forever”.
