Sixth Annual Grim Reapers Toy Run Raises Over $4,000 for Santa's Helpers

On Saturday, October 10th, over 60 proud riders turned out for the Grim Reapers Motorcycle Club 6th Annual Pat Ashby Memorial Ride and Toy Run, with proceeds to benefit Santa’s Helpers.

This year’s event, which was held in memory of member Pat Ashby, of Lafayette, who lost his battle with cancer in 2004, raised $4,200 with the help and support of our wonderful community

The original Grim Reapers Motorcycle Club has been around for over 45 years, but the Lafayette chapter was organized in 2003. Riders gathered at the Club House in Macon County to be a part of the fun, including the ride, entertainment, door prizes and plenty of good food. A lot of time and effort was put into planning the event and the hard work certainly paid off for everyone involved.

Along with the many people who participated in the 75 mile ride through Westmoreland, several others made donations and helped in various ways. The Grim Reapers would like to thank the following for their support: Advance Auto, Ben Bray Real Estate, Larry’s Auto Sales, New China Buffet, McDonalds, O’Reilly’s Auto Parts, Starr Mortgage, Tucks Building Center, Randall C. and Kim F.
