Child Rapist Sentenced to 62 Years

Thirty-one-year-old Vincent Parker Lee, of Lafayette, who was pronounced guilty of two counts of rape of a child, one count of aggravated sexual battery and two counts of incest in a Criminal Court jury trial last September, was sentenced to 62 years in prison by Judge David Durham during his recent sentencing trial.

Lee was originally arrested in June of 2007, at which time he was 28 years old, on the charge of rape of a child under 13 years old.

Lee was given the maximum 25 years in prison for each count of rape of a child and the maximum 12 years behind bars for the charge of aggravated sexual battery.

Six years, to be served concurrently during his 62-year sentence, were given for each charge of incest.

“This is a case that we are very proud of,” said Macon County Detective Bill Cothron. “It renews a sense of faith in our justice system. Macon County can be proud of our justice system. For those who believe that it’s broken, cases like this remind us that it is very much intact and that justice will be served.”
