2009 Macon County Christmas Tour of Homes, Dec. 6th

In celebration of the holiday season, several families in our rural community would like to invite you into their homes to experience the joy and excitement of Christmas in their households. The United Women of Macon County will once again present the annual Christmas Tour of Homes on December 6th, 2009, from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. The price this year is $10.00 and tickets may be purchased the day of the tour at any of the homes. The tour, which is sponsored by this non-profit organization, was originally Xi Gamma Pi Sorority of Beta Sigma Phi over 30 years ago. This event funds scholarships for college bound Macon County students, in memory of Lynda Belton, a long time devoted member of the organization.

“We are extremely thankful for each and everyone that has ever graciously had their homes on the tour,” said Committee member Tammy Hewitt, “because without their kind generosity this event would not be possible. It is a great time to see some beautiful homes and pick up some marvelous ideas for your own holiday decorating.”

The homes on this year’s tour include: Mr. & Mrs. Darren Walrond, of 7243 Galen Road; Linda Austin, 753 Old Hwy. 52; Mr. & Mrs. Bobby Thomas, 40 Hidden Acres Lane; Mr. & Mrs. Corey Jenkins, 1045 Maple Grove Road; Casey Jenkins, 45 Mai Ridge Lane; and Stonecrest Assisted Living, 2861 Hwy. 52 By Pass.

Stonecrest will be serving an array of delicious home-made desserts baked by the staff at the facility. Everyone is looking forward to a blessed holiday season and wish each of you the same.

Please see next week’s edition of the Macon County Chronicle for pictures and descriptions of the homes on the annual tour.
