Officers from the Macon County Sheriffs Department were dispatched to Cowan & Sons Custom Cabinetry, located at 14343 Highway 52 East, in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee, in response to a report of a break-in on Tuesday, December 8th, 2009. According to the Officer’s offense report, owner Bob Cowan stated that he opened up the cabinet shop around 5:00 a.m. that morning and found the back door was unlocked and after entering he discovered that a person(s) had been in the building sometime during the night and rummaged through shop drawers, and taken a large number of hand tools with a total cost of $10,354.99.

Among the numerous items stolen from the business were a 19.2 Volt Drill with charger, 14 Volt Drills, Milwalkee Batteries and Chargers, Bosch 10.8 Drill, Dewalt Set Drill, Skilsaw, Dovetail Bit & Lock, Laser Level, Dewalt Nail Gun Framing Nailer, Dewalt Sanders-Palm Finishing, Electric Voltage Meters, Craftsman Tools, Vice Grips, C-Clamps Vice Grips 10 inch, Porter Cable Belt Sanders, Porter Cable Laminate Trimmer H3, Kobalt Hammer, Extension Cords, Pliers, Kobalt Hammer, Channel Locks, Needle Nose Pliers, Porter Chop Saw, Log Chain, Adjustable Wrench, Tool Bag containing Hole Saw, Wrenches, Paddle, Tool Box on Rollers with raise up top, Tool Box on rollers with removable top and tray, Dynabrad Air Sander, Dewalt Air Compressor 2.75 HP, Makita Portable Grinder, Makita Diamond Wheel Blade, Dewalt Jig Saw, Wood Chisels Set, Portable Kerosen Heater.

There was no visible damage to the building and the Macon County Sheriffs Department is investigating the robbery. Anyone with further information is urged to contact the department at 666-3325.
