Meth Manufacturing Arrest Made on Carter Branch Rd.

Forty-eight-year-old Sherrie Lynn Chapman was arrested and charged with manufacturing of narcotics, possession of a Schedule II drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of probation and methamphetamine precursor on Thursday, April 29, by Deputy K-9 Handler Donnie Crawford and Sergeant Ira Meador of the Macon County Sheriffs Department.

Officers were assisting state probation officer Tammy Wright during a home visit to Chapman’s residence, located at 2024 Carter Branch Rd. in Hartsville, when four shake-and-bake meth labs and drug paraphernalia were discovered.

“This department is dedicated to keeping drugs out of Macon County,” said Sheriff Mark Gammons. “Every time we make a lab discovery like this, we’re one step closer to eliminating the availability of harmful drugs in our community.”

Chapman’s bond was set at $150,000. A General Sessions Court date was set for May 26 and a Criminal Court date is set for June 7.

Local authorities state that the investigation is ongoing.
