Hollis Case Bound Over to Grand Jury

The preliminary hearing involving charges of sexual battery and sexual battery by an authority figure against Red Boiling Springs Mayor Kenneth Hollis, was heard in the courtroom of Judge Ken Witcher on Monday, June 21. After hearing testimony from the 19-year-old complaintent, who first accused Hollis, her former landlord, of groping her when she was only 17 years old and continuing after she turned 18 years old, Judge Witcher ruled that the State had presented sufficient evidence of probable cause that the alleged crimes had occurred and that case be bound over to the Grand Jury for consideration and possible indictment, setting the closed hearing for October 4, 2010.

The complaintent was the only witness called by the State and no witnesses were called on behalf of the defendant Kenneth Hollis.

The state was represented by Assistant District Attorney Justin Harris and Bobby Hibbett and Hollis was represented by Attorneys Eddie Taylor & Betty Lou Taylor.
