RBS Youth Paralyzed in Wreck

Allen Cook, a 2009 graduate of RBS High, and grandson of Jimmy and Janie Cook of Red boiling Springs was seriously injured on Monday afternoon, September 13, while a passenger in a pick-up driven by a friend. The accident occurred on a rural road in Macon County.

Allen, who lives with his grandparents, is paralyzed and has other serious injuries as well as spine injuries. He is hospitalized at Vanderbilt Intensive Care Unit in Nashville. According to his grandfather, Vanderbilt has suggested that he needs to be transferred to Shepherd in Atlanta, which is a leading center for spine injured patients.

“The therapy will cost thousands, and there are issues as to whether Allen’s insurance will pay for some of the treatment,” commented Mr. Cook. “I want him to walk again, no matter the cost, and I’m hoping and praying that individuals and churches will help as they have others in times past,” said Cook.

An account on behalf of Allen is setup at both Macon Bank and Trust and Citizens Bank. Those wishing to give may do so at any of the branches of these two banks.
