Red Boiling Springs High School head football coach and teacher Kyle Shoulders was suspended for two weeks, without pay, on Monday, November 29, by Macon County Interim Director of Macon County Schools Margaret Oldham, after recently being arrested for driving under the influence.
The official letter of suspension presented to Shoulders on Monday afternoon, reads:
Being an employee of the Macon County Board of Education, as a teacher and a coach, you are expected to be a role model for the students at Red Boiling Springs in school and outside of school.
Being arrested and charged with a DUI is not acceptable behavior.
As Interim Director of Schools, I am suspending you for two weeks without pay. This is a penalty, so when you return to school, you will not be paid for these days. This suspension will start Tuesday, November 30th and end Monday, December 13th. You will return to school on December 14.
