Twenty-one-year-old Justin Ray Key and 22-year-old Sarah Lynn Patrick, both of Westmoreland, were arrested on Wednesday, March 2nd, for the theft of and a 2002 Dodge pickup truck that was reported stolen from Hanestown Road in Lafayette earlier that day.

According to Macon County Sheriffs Department Detective Darrell Taylor, the vehicle’s owner, Jason Hesson, reported the vehicle stolen around 7 p.m. that evening, and authorities in the surrounding areas were notified to be on the look out for a vehicle matching its description.

A shirt time later, a Westmoreland police officer identified the stolen vehicle at a MAPCO convenience store and, after pulling up to investigate, verified that it was in fact Hesson’s vehicle.

The driver and passenger, Key and Patrick, were transported to the Macon County Sheriffs Department, where they were both charged with theft over $10,000. Bond was set at $25,000. A General Sessions Court date has been set for March 23rd.
