A 23-year-old Scottsville, Kentucky man has been charged with DUI and no Driver’s License in connection with a one vehicle accident that occurred on Tuesday afternoon, March 15th, on Highway 10 North just past the Cold Spring Road intersection.According to Trooper Terry Seay, of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, who was the investigating officer, Miguel Angel Garcia, was attempting to negotiate a curve when he lost control of the 2001 Chevrolet Camero he was driving. The northbound vehicle veered off the road, hit a culvert, cut a utility pole into, traveled through a yard and stopped short of a driveway. After he was extricated from the vehicle, by the Lafayette Fire Department, Garcia was transported by the Macon County EMS to Macon County General Hospital and he was later transferred to the Macon County Jail where he was charged. Tri County Electric was called to the crash site to replace a pole, while the Macon County Sheriffs Department directed the backed up traffic.
Those responding to the scene included the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Macon County Sheriffs Department, Lafayette Fire Department, Macon County Rescue Squad, Macon County EMS, and the Macon County Chronicle.
Miguel Garcia’s bond was set at $1,400 and a General Sessions court date has been set for Wednesday, April 6th.
