On Sunday night, April 10th, Officer Garrett Flatt, of the Lafayette Police Department, responded to an alleged domestic assault, which had taken place at 114 Sewell Street against a minor female by 19-year-old Jimmy Lewis Summers, of Lafayette.

According to Officer Flatt, upon arrival he talked to the young woman, who stated that Summers had shoved her against the refrigerator inside the residence and after running outside he shoved her again, causing her to fall on the concrete sidewalk, striking the back of her head.

“It was hard for the young lady to breath,” Flatt said, “and she had scraps and abrasions on various parts of her body. Summers had already fled the scene, but he was apprehended 45 minutes later and was transported to the Macon County Justice Center where he was arrested and charged with one count of Domestic Violence.”

A General Sessions Court date has been set for Wednesday, April 27th.
