On Sunday night, May 29th, Officer Keith Tillman, of the Lafayette Police Department, investigated a motorcycle accident on Highway 52 By Pass West, in front of Sunshine Market, that sent two people to Sumner County Regional Medical Center, in Gallatin,Tennessee, suffering from injuries sustained in the 11 p.m. wreck.

32-year-old Ronald Wayne Treesh, of Florida, was driving a 1999 Suzuki motorcycle, along with passenger 39-year-old Vanessa Caine, of Lafayette, riding behind him, when he lost control and ran off the road, proceeding down an embankment.

Treesh, who was in Lafayette to attend a funeral, was out for one last ride before loading up his bike and returning to Florida, the next morning. Both Treesh and Caine were wearing helmets.

First responders included the Lafayette Police Department, Macon County Emergency Medical Services, Macon County Rescue Squad, Macon County Sheriffs Department, and the Macon County Chronicle.
