Lafayette Merchants' Southern Days Cruise Into the Show this Saturday

The 5th Annual Lafayette Merchants’ Southern Days Cruise Into the Show will be held in Lafayette from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 4th, on the Public Square, offering guests the opportunity to step back in time for an afternoon of classic cars, music, food, and fun! There is no admission fee for the event, and anyone can enter their muscle car, antique car, truck, rat rod or tractor without the cost of an entry fee.

The top 50 vehicles will receive trophies along with the winners of ‘Best of Show’ and the three winners of the ‘Best Antique Tractor’ category. Voting will be completed by entrants, who will receive the voting paperwork at the time of registration.

The 5th Annual Lafayette Merchants’ Southern Days Cruise Into the Show is being sponsored by O’Reilly Auto Parts and Day’s Auto Service Center.

Food will be available for purchase at Gibson’s Café, McClard’s and Linda’s Cakes and Catering on the square and a deejay, playing your favorite oldies, will be located on the Courthouse lawn.

Last year, 90 vehicles were entered in the show and that number is expected to grow this year.

“We hope that everyone will come out and join us at the show,” said event co-sponsor Bill Gregory of O’Reilly Auto Parts in Lafayette. “It’s a lot of fun to walk around and see all of the history. You can almost imagine what the Square looked like back in the old days.”

(Note: Vehicles are prohibited from parking on the square until they are registered.)
