Sheriff's Department Makes Arrest in Recent Rash of Local Burglaries

Officers of the Macon County Sheriff’s Department recently received a big break in a string of local burglaries that resulted in the arrest of 21-year-old Jasper Roland Linville, of Lafayette, on Wednesday, June 15th.

According to Macon County Sheriff Mark Gammons, several residential burglaries have taken place over the last few months involving the theft of jewelry, guns and electronics, such as televisions and gaming systems.

After receiving information of Linville’s involvement in the burglaries, officers learned that he was selling the stolen items to an individual in Trousdale County and were granted a search warrant for the buyer’s residence.

During their search, officers discovered numerous items reported stolen in Macon County along with marijuana and cocaine.

“The investigation in this case continues,” said Sheriff Gammons. “Anyone with further information should contact the Macon County Sheriff’s Department.”

Roland was charged with theft of property and burglary. His bond was set at $25,000.
