Barbara Ann Jones, age 43, was arrested and charged with intent to manufacture methamphetamine and promotion of methamphetamine on Thursday, June 30, after officers of the Macon County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at her 878 Mack Hollow Road residence.

According to Detective Bill Cothron, the Criminal Investigations Department began their investigation into Jones approximately one month ago and received information that she was actively manufacturing meth in her home.

When the search warrant was executed and officers gained entry into Jones’ trailer, Cothron said she ran to the back bathroom and attempted to dispose of the drugs by flushing them down the toilet.

During their search of the residence, officers discovered finished product, the components used to manufacture meth and records indicating that Jones had purchased precursors to create the deadly drug in three different counties.

Officers quickly quarantined the residence, cleaned up the lab and transported Jones to the Macon County Sheriffs Department, where she is being held on $30,000 bond.
