Ferrell Meador Apple Festival this Saturday, Sept. 17th

With cold weather just around the corner, the annual Ferrell Meador Apple Festival is back for the 6th year and Knollwood Manor and The White House Assisted Living would like to invite you to the festivities, which will begin at 10:00 a.m. this Saturday, September 17th at the facility located here in Lafayette. An unlimited variety of events have been planned for the guests to enjoy including cider making, apple sampling, antique and novelty booths, craft demonstrations and much more. Entertainment will be provided throughout the day by Doug Mount and Misty Morning/with The Lowery Family, and guests will be asked to sign up for the horse shoe pitching and corn hole contest.

The highly anticipated Apple Recipe Contest will include entries for the best apple pie, fried apple pie, apple cake and your favorite apple recipe.

At 11:00 a.m. participants will join in the Heritage Costume Contest and a winner will be announced in the pre 1950 era. Then at 12:00 noon an old time dinner of pinto beans with ham shanks, coleslaw, corn bread, fried apples, and your favorite apple desserts. Lunch and all events will be free.

So please bring a lawn chair and come out and enjoy the warm hospitality that we extend to each and everyone of you.”
