Head on Collision Injures Two

Emergency responders were called to Highway 52 East, in the vicinity of Coley’s Market, during the wee hours of Thursday morning, September 29th, where a head on collision resulted in two Red Boiling Springs residents being air lifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center, with serious injuries.

Thirty-four-year-old Kevin King was driving eastbound in a 2011 Lexus, when for some unknown reason he crossed the center line hitting a westbound 2008 silver Toyota Camry head on, with Brenda Brown, age 60, behind the wheel, according to THP Trooper Danny Fisher, who investigated the 4:00 a.m. accident.

Both drivers were extricated from their vehicles by the Macon County Rescue Squad and Lafayette Fire Department, and then transported by air ambulance to Nashville, after they were treated at the scene by the EMS.

Those arriving at the crash site were the Macon County Sheriffs Department, Macon County EMS, Lafayette Fire Department, Macon County Rescue Squad, THP, and the Macon County Chronicle.

Charges are pending.
