Three Candidates for Lafayette Mayor; Six for City Council

The qualifying and withdrawal deadlines have passed for the May 3rd City of Lafayette Election leaving three candidates eligible to compete in the Mayoral election and six city council hopefuls vying for three open seats. In the race for mayor, votes will be cast for incumbent J.Y. Carter, Richard F. Driver or John Keller.

With the terms ending for Lafayette City Council members Loryn Atwell, Richard Bransford and Steve Turner, six candidates will appear on the ballot to vie for the open seats: Incumbent Loryn Atwell, Incumbent Richard Bransford, Ron Morey, Tom Roberts, Roger Russell and Pam Cothron.

Early voting for the May 3rd City of Lafayette Election will begin April 13th and end on April 28th. The last day to register to vote for this election is April 3, 2012.
