Hayden’s Mayfest Outdoor Music Festival, an event held in memory of Hayden Shrum, promises to provide great music, great food and great times on Saturday, May 19th, beginning at noon at the Macon County Fairgrounds.

Hayden Shrum, who passed away in May of 2010 from Acute Myelogenous Leukemia, spent his last months planning this cancer awareness event, then called ‘Rockin’ the Park for Cancer Awareness.’ The event was a huge success, and friends and family have carried on the young man’s dream by continuing to host the outdoor music festival in his memory every year since his death.

Now entitled ‘Hayden’s Mayfest,’ the festival focuses on Hayden’s love of music and passion for helping others who are battling cancer.

All proceeds from Mayfest will benefit those affected by cancer with an emphasis on infant to young adults.

Musical entertainment will feature Mama Tried, Southern Image, Shattered Silence, Miles Gibson and many more.

Guests of the event are invited to participate in a silent auction, which includes autographed memorabilia from country music star Taylor Swift, the University of Kentucky and many other items.

Events for the kids will be provided at this free, family-friendly event.

Food, drinks and a variety of desserts will also be available for purchase.
