The 2012 Veterans Day Parade for Macon County will be held on Monday, 12 November 2012.

This year our Parade Honoree is Barry Enoch.

As in previous years, the parade will kickoff at 11 a.m. at the County Courthouse with an opening ceremony, the Laying of the Veteran’s Day Wreath, and the playing of Taps.

The Parade will begin from the Courthouse immediately after this. It will depart the square via College Street (Hwy 10 South) to Hwy 52, turn west on Hwy 52 to Ellington Drive, turn right onto Ellington Drive and proceed on Church Street. The parade will head East on Church Street and end at Key Park.

Once at Key Park, there will be a closing ceremony/celebration with a guest speaker, G. W. Knight, and entertainment followed by refreshments.

If you are going to have a Parade Float or other entries in the Parade please inform Mike Scott, the County Veterans Officer at 666-4480.

Lineup for the floats and other entries will be down Main Street starting at the corner of Public Square.  Parade lineup begins at 10 a.m.

The theme for this year’s Parade is “A Tribute to Veterans.”

We are looking forward to a great parade and it is our sincere wish to make this a fitting tribute to our veterans.
